Do you know your employment law?

An employment law seminar for newspaper staff is to be hosted by The Newspaper Society next month.

Chaired by Northcliffe's Ken Thompson, the event will include presentations on discrimination law, stress-related absence, employee information and consultation, and the Data Protection Act.

Santha Rasaiah, director of political editorial and regulatory affairs at the Newspaper Society, said: "The emphasis of this year's NS Employment Law seminar is not only to provide an overview of recent employment law developments, but also to give practical guidance on how to tackle everyday workplace HR problems.

"The speakers all have wide-ranging experience as employment law practitioners and trainers - we are fortunate to be able to draw from their expertise for this seminar, and are confident that participants will find their input helpful for future practice."

The day-long event will be held in London on November 7 and will cost £200 per person. For more details or to book, call Christine O'Driscoll on 020 769 30438.
