Three more years for PCC chairman

Press Complaints Commission chairman Sir Christopher Meyer has been reappointed to serve a second term in the role.

He will begin another three-year term in April next year, the Press Standards Board of Finance has announced.

PressBoF chairman Philip Graf said: "Sir Christopher, supported by his team at Salisbury Square, has proved an inspired appointment since taking up the chairmanship of the PCC in Spring 2003, having done sterling work to promote the benefits of self-regulation for readers, newspapers and magazines."

Sir Christopher, (61), said: "I am very pleased to have been reappointed chairman of the PCC for a further three years.

"I look forward to the opportunity this will give to build on the many changes of the last three years and to enhance still further the credibility of self-regulation and the service the PCC offers to the public."
