Press watchdog heads to Belfast

The Press Complaints Commission is travelling to Belfast next month to hold an open day in the city.

The newspaper industry watchog is continuing its initiative to increase awareness of its services, and has chosen Belfast as its next destination.

As part of an afternoon surgery members of the public will be able to quiz Commission members and staff about its work.

A panel of members, including Belfast Telgraph editor Ed Curran, PCC chairman Sir Christopher Meyer and director Tim Toulmin, will also be grilled by visitors during a 'Question Time' about self-regulation and the press.

The event will be held at the Belfast Waterfront Hall on May 18.

It follows similiar events in Manchester, Cardiff and Edinburgh.
