Three PCC appointments

Three new editorial appointments have been made to the Press Complaints Commission and the Editors' Code of Practice Committee.

Daily Express editor Chris Williams and Tom Loxley, editor-in-chief of Maxim, are to join the Code Committee, which is responsible for drafting and framing the Code of Practice which binds all national and regional newspapers and periodicals.

The appointments follow the retirement from the committee of Max Hastings and Maggi Koumi.

A new editorial appointment is also made to the membership of the PCC as a result of the impending retirement of Russell Twisk, editor-in-chief of Readers' Digest.

The new member is Phil Hall, editor-in-chief of Hello! - who will be sitting on the PCC for a second time.
