Journalism at Huddersfield is taught in impressive, purpose-built facilities packed with the very latest industry-standard equipment used in current print journalism, radio, television and digital media.

Our professional TV studio, with its latest Panasonic tape less cameras, editing suites with AVID software and state of the art radio studios, are all regularly updated so that you learn your craft on equipment that would not look out of place in the professional world.

Our teaching staff have extensive industrial experience and have worked in national and regional newspapers, television and radio.  They deliver practically-based courses which are supported by theoretical study of the concepts which have influenced and shaped current thinking of how the media influences us.

Our Broadcast Journalism BA (Hons) is accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC)

You will have the opportunity to learn from experience in the professional world.  Our students have had placements at the BBC, ITV, Sky and independent TV production companies, national and regional newspaper and magazine groups, including the Press Association, The Times and the NME.
