'Speak Out, Stop Bullying', Mail tells readers

The Birmingham Mail has joined forces with children's charity ChildLine for the second year running to launch a Speak Out, Stop Bullying campaign.

Last year's campaign, which involved education packs for every Midland school and helpline stickers for every school pupil, won Trinity Mirror's Regional Campaign of the Year Award.

The focus this time is to attract children, parents and schools to access information on the newspaper's website.

The campaign aims to encourage schools to discuss bullying and profile their successful initiatives.

Stories have been carried in-paper highlighting the campaign and featuring schools with anti-bullying initiatives, interviews with ChildLine staff and an 'Everything You Need To Know About Speak Out, Stop Bullying' pack.

This meant focusing on youngsters who had become playground pals and mentors, children who had created an anti-bullying rap, pupils who had filmed their own bullying story and a school where all the students painted their noses blue for Blue Nose Day Against Bullies.

A dedicated campaign section has also been created at birminghammail.net featuring news stories, a survey, quiz, readers' forum and a competition for children to win tickets at a local cinema for designing a 'Speak Out, Stop Bullying' poster.
