Herald rallies support for key meeting against health closures

The Worthing Herald's campaign to stop the possible closure of the Worthing hospital is being backed by readers and local MPs.

West Sussex health service managers say the total closure of the Worthing hospital is a clear possibility. So after background work involving dozens of calls, emails and letters the Herald got involved.

The hospital's fate will be decided at the Charmandean Centre in Worthing on Wednesday, and the paper is urging its readers to sign an online petition to save it.

MPs Peter Bottomley and Tim Loughton praised the Herald and warned its readers they are "gearing up for the mother and father of a fight to save Worthing hospital".
