Gazette backs bid to make town safer after violent death

The Somerset County Gazette is backing a campaign to make Taunton a safer place following the violent death of a local student.

Lloyd Fouracre, (17), died after an argument outside an 18th birthday party in the town in September.

Now his brother Adam has launched the 'Campaign for Lloyd' in the County Gazette, which also opened a Book of Condolence after the tragedy.

The campaign calls for a range of measures including more police on the beat at key times and extra work in schools.

County Gazette editor-in-chief Ken Bird said: "Lloyd's death rocked our community.

"His brother is determined to make a difference and we are happy to back his efforts."
