Echo takes Reds' case to Uefa

The Liverpool Echo is calling on Uefa to allow Liverpool FC to defend their Champions League title.

It has given its executive committee 3,600 reasons as to why the team should be given a qualifying spot.

Thousands of messages of support have flooded in for the paper's Let It Be campaign, and the Echo has now handed over a dossier to David Davies of the Football Association, who received it on behalf of FA chairman and committee member Geoff Thompson.

The 43-page A3 dossier contains 3,600 messages from Echo readers who all called or texted their support or left messages on its website icliverpool, urging Uefa to allow Liverpool to compete in next year's Champions League alongside Everton even though they only finished fifth in the Premiership.
