The Eastern Daily Press is helping to tackle domestic violence with a two-week campaign launched in conjunction with Norfolk police.

Newspaper and radio advertisements, featuring actress Linda Bellingham, are currently appearing across Norfolk, and posters are also being distributed to highlight the problem and encourage more victims to come forward.

The Eastern Daily Press also ran a series of in-depth articles about domestic violence in advance of the campaign to create awareness.

These included interviews with victims, police who have worked with victims and a look at what is being done to tackle the problem.

Launching the campaign, deputy editor James Ruddy told readers: "Domestic violence is a term that fails to describe fully the misery of the physical and mental trauma experienced behind so many closed doors across Norfolk and the rest of the UK.

"The EDP is supporting this campaign so victims can understand there are others who share the same pain, as well as groups and organisations which can give them instant and lasting help."
