Comet blazes trail on underage drinking

The Surrey Comet has launched a campaign to crack down on underage drinking.

A survey by Kingston reporters proved the problem was rife in the borough and editor Sean Duggan decided that in the run up to Christmas the time was right to tackle the problem.

With backing from MPs, schools and the local authority, retailers are being asked to support the campaign by displaying Surrey Comet window stickers to show their support.

The STOP underage sales stickers will also go up in newsagents and Trading Standards have set up a special hotline for reports of anyone selling alcohol to under 18s.
