Community campaign double for Gazette

The Somerset County Gazette has been enjoying a double success on the campaign trail.

It has hit the £10,000 mark in its Albemarle Appeal for a local community centre.

And the Gazette's Stamp Out The Litterbugs campaign has led to a big clean-up across Taunton Deane.

"These latest milestones prove that Newsquest titles can make a real difference in their local communities," said news editor Tamsin Jones.

"Our readers seem to enjoy joining forces with their local paper and we are reaping the benefits."

Meanwhile, the County Gazette has launched an Out With The Louts campaign to stamp out anti-social behaviour across its patch.

It is joining forces with the local authority and police to introduce a range of crime-busting initiatives.

The Gazette is Newsquest's Paid-For Weekly Newspaper of the Year in the category for 'over 64 pages'.
