Royals pull-out as Post's Keepy Uppy helps bid for football safety

A Reading Evening Post campaign to keep the town's football team in the Premier League will feature posters for fans to hold up at a crunch fixture.

Today's edition includes a double page spread sized Keepy Uppy poster, coloured blue and white like Reading FC's home strip.

The newspaper hopes fans will hold up the poster at Reading’s home fixture against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Reading have struggled in the Premier League this season and slipped into the relegation zone for the first time last week.

Backed by the club and a local radio station, the Post launched the campaign to generate support as a relegation battle looms.

It has featured interviews with players, such as captain Graeme Murty, ex-players and video footage online of local schoolchildren doing keep uppies to show support.
