London and South of England awards set to launch

The EDF Energy London and South of England Media Awards 2009, in association with HoldtheFrontPage, are about to launch.

Journalists from across the region, including writers, photographers, radio and television staff, will be invited to enter the awards from next week with the entry form downloadable here.

So now is the time to check your cuttings, footage and files from the past year - 16 August 2008 to 1 July 2009 - to see if you've got what it takes to be a winner.

Individual award winners will receive a £100 cheque, as well as a certificate and trophy, and all those shortlisted, along with their guests, will be invited to a celebration presentation event, courtesy of EDF Energy.

The awards, now in their fourth year in the region, honour the best in journalism across London and the South of England.

There are 20 categories to choose from. The full list of categories, which cover daily and weekly newspapers, magazines and broadcasters in Dorset, Hampshire, Kent, East and West Sussex, Surrey and the wider London area bounded by the M25, are:

If you have any questions or queries about the awards or the event itself, please e-mail Paul Linford at HTFP or Hanna Spence at EDF Energy.
