Birmingham Press Club prepares for annual awards ceremony

The Birmingham Press Club is gearing up for its sixth annual Midlands Media Awards.

And this year's event, which traditionally celebrates print journalism, welcomes two new award categories – radio journalist and television journalist of the year.

This year's ceremony will be held at the city's International Convention Centre on June 6.

John Lamb, chairman of Birmingham Press Club, said; "This awards scheme recognises and rewards boxing-clever journalists in the Midlands.

"Every year we receive hundreds of entries and the awards ceremony is one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the media calendar.

"It will be interesting to see which journalists manage to knock out the competition and walk away with a title in June."
