A British freelancer has come third in a Europe-wide competition for journalists writing about discrimination.
Billy Briggs' article, Pursued by Prejudice, published by Scotland on Sunday, focussed on the problems faced by Roma people in Scotland today.
He took the accolade at the European Commission "For Diversity. Against Discrimination" Journalism Awards.
It ran from January to September this year and was open to print and online journalists in all 27 EU member states.
Briggs was awarded third place by a pan-European jury of journalists and experts in the field of diversity and non-discrimination.
First place was awarded to Maria do Céu Neves, from Portugal, whose article looked at the conditions of Portuguese and Polish migrant workers in the Netherlands.
Second place was given to French duo Marie-Madeleine Péretie and Adeline Trégouët for their article about discriminatory recruitment practices in France.
