The 29th Guardian Student Media Awards will recognise the UK's brightest young talent in the fields of journalism and media at a ceremony in London next month.

The shortlist has been revealed and includes talent from universities across the UK.

The entries for this year's awards have been whittled down to a select few, with the most sought-after categories including Student Newspaper of the Year and Student Reporter of the Year.

Universities represented include University College London, University of Leeds and University of Glasgow.

Overall winners will be chosen by a panel of judges from a number of media organisations including The Guardian, BBC, Sky and Channel 4.
