Broadcasters line up in EDF Media Awards shortlist

The shortlist for the EDF Energy South West Media Awards broadcast categories for 2007 is revealed today.

Many broadcasters in the region chose to enter their work for categories where they will compete with their local print rivals.

But in the broadcast-only categories, the list of nominees is as follows:

TV Journalist of the Year:

Rupert Evelyn, ITV West
Jonathon Gibson, ITV WestCountry
Marcus Wraight, BBC Spotlight
Steve Brodie, BBC Points West
Duncan Sleightholme, ITV WestCountry Live
Matthew Hill, BBC West

TV News or Current Affairs Programme of the Year:

James Garrett: "Hey Big Spender" - West Eye View.
Nat Low: "Porky Pies" - West Eye View

Other broadcast nominees include:

Community Campaign of the Year:
ITV West Country

Sports Journalist of the Year:
Jed Pitman, ITV West
Jeff Welch, ITV WestCountry

Newcomer of the Year:
Kirsty Hemming, ITV West

Business Journalist of the Year:
Neil Gallacher, BBC South West
