News staff party at 'Oscars' awards bash

Staff at Staffordshire Sentinel Newspapers have celebrated the successes of the past 12 months with an 'Oscars' awards bash.

The event at the Moat House Hotel in Stoke-on-Trent, brought together staff from all of the centre's departments, who enjoyed a 'Best of British' themed party.

Among the editorial winners was Nathan Chadwick and Mario Cacciottolo from The Sentinel, who were jointly named Newcomer of the Year, and Steve Bould who was named Photographer of the Year.

This year the coveted Writer of the Year Award was renamed the Peter Bossley Memorial Award, following the sudden death of the popular Sentinel writer in September. The award was won by his former colleague, John Woodhouse.
