Applications sought for photography scholarship

Applications are being sought for a photography scholarship which offers the chance to cover Marylebone Cricket Club both home and abroad.

The successful candidate will also receive up to £7,500 of financial support, see their work published in MCC publications and be mentored by Graham Morris - one of the world's top cricket photographers.

They will also have the chance to hold an end-of-season exhibition at Lord's.

Previous winners of the scholarship include former Gloucestershire Echo photographer Anthony Devlin, who travelled to Gibraltar with the MCC team.

Following his year with the club he said: "I would urge any cricket-loving young photographer to apply for this scholarship. I loved every moment of my year with MCC."

Scholarship hopefuls must be aged between 18 and 25 and should have an interest in cricket, a talent for both action and atmospheric photography and a genuine interest in becoming a professional sports photographer.

Applicants should submit examples of their work - together with a covering letter and completed application form (available via www.lords.org) - to: MCC Communications Department, Lord's Cricket Ground, St John's Wood, London NW8 8QN, by Monday, February 6.

The successful applicant will be expected to take up his/her position in early April, when MCC will play the Champion County (Nottinghamshire) at Lord's.
