Belfast showbiz reporter picks up top award

Belfast Telegraph showbiz reporter Maureen Coleman has been named as the Top Irish Entertainment Journalist.

Maureen, who has covered entertainment and written a showbiz column in the paper for four years, picked up the gong at this year's Big Buzz Awards.

The awards, organised by Big Buzz magazine, celebrate Ireland's entertainment industry.

Maureen said: "It's the first time I've won it although I was nominated last year. I wasn't there but it's quite a fun bash with a fairly big crowd."

Celebrities at the event included Coronation Street actor Keith Duffy, former Hear'say singer Myleen Klass and spoon bender Uri Geller.

Maureen began her career at the News Letter and has worked for the Telegraph for 15 years, where she covers entertainment news stories and features, band interviews and gig reviews.
