Archant duo share trainee award

Two newly-qualified senior reporters have been jointly awarded the Archant Norfolk Albert Holroyd Award for the Trainee Journalist of the Year.

The award is made annually to the division's outstanding trainee journalist, and this year went to Jonathan Redhead of the Eastern Daily Press and Jasper Copping from the Evening News in Norwich.

  • Judges decided to make a joint award on this occasion because they did equally well.

Jonathan and Jasper were presented with their award by Norfolk managing director Barry Dennis, and they also received £150 each.

The annual award was set up in memory of Albert Holroyd, a former editor of the Norfolk weekly series of newspapers, by his daughter Elaine who is a reporter on the Yarmouth Mercury.
