Find out what the BT Awards judges said...

National winners of the coveted BT UK Regional Media Awards have celebrated their success with a victory lunch at the top of London's BT Tower.

Many of the winners traveled from Scotland to take their seats at the presentation, with seven of the 14 top prizes going to people and papers from north of the border.

The major prizewinners included the Sunday Herald, which was named Daily Newspaper of the Year and The Northern Scot, (Weekly Newspaper of the Year).

The Daily News Journalist of the Year is Martin Shipton, from Wales on Sunday, and the same prize for a weekly newspaper journalist went to Nicola Smith, of the Derbyshire Times.

The judges' remarks on what makes a winning entry have been revealed for the first time, and can be read at http://www.bt.com/mediacentre/awards.

BBC News presenter Huw Edwards compered the ceremony, which was attended by around 80 guests.
