The successful westmidlands.com has scooped another industry award by winning the Media Award at the West Midlands Web Site of the Year Awards.

With its trophy cabinet already heaving under the weight of accolades, the website produced by the Express & Star beat competition from Northcliffe's thisisbollywood.co.uk, and other contenders to lift its latest award.

The awards were run by the Institute of Directors and Advantage West Midlands and were open to any business or organisation based in the West Midlands Region, or which has a significant presence in the region.

The other winners were:
Business to Consumer Award:
co-opgrapevine.co.uk, which also won the Website of the Year Award;
Business to Business Award:
tansun.co.uk;
Public Service/Sector Award:
virtual-shropshire.co.uk.

The judges chose the winner from 70 entrants and praised the high practical criteria, such as download speed, navigation and the sites' look and feel.

They also examined creativity to ensure the sites' purpose was clear and that it was easy to find the information.

The presentation event was held at an Awards dinner at Thinktank, Millennium Point, Birmingham.
