The Bolton Evening News has presented writer Doreen Crowther with a special award at its annual theatre awards evening.
Doreen retired from her position as the paper's theatre and showbusiness correspondent last December.
She received the award at the prestigious Amateur Theatre Societies' dinner at Bolton's Reebok Stadium.
The event attracted more than 200 representatives from amateur theatre companies in the Bolton area.
