Young journalists scoop award

Thirty young journalists from Tunbridge Wells have visited the House of Commons after scooping a newspaper award.

The students from St Gregory's School received a gold level certificate of distinction for producing a newspaper in a day for the Times Educational Supplement's national challenge.

The team, aged between 14 and 18, used the internet to gather news and produced the paper in just six hours.

Project co-ordinator and teacher Julia Mills said: "The school is very proud to receive such a high level award and it was a real honour to be presented with our certificates in the House of Commons."

ITN newsreader Dermot Murnaghan presented the students with their certificates.
