Media people invited to apply for FoI Awards

The Campaign for Freedom of Information is looking for nominations for its annual Freedom of Information Awards.

The awards recognise the authorities, individuals, media bodies and other organisations who have made significant contributions to Freedom of Information.

Individual journalists, local newspapers, TV and radio programmes who have mounted systematic campaigns to expose unjustified official secrecy can apply.

A CFI spokesman said: "If you know of or work for a public authority or private body which has taken an important openness initiative in the UK or know of any media body or individual who deserves recognition, please nominate them for this year's Awards."

Information about the awards and how to make nominations can be accessed at www.cfoi.org.uk.
