The National Council for the Training of Journalists has announced the results of the May 2001 National Certificate Examination for Press Photographers and Photo-journalists.

Nine press photographers and two photo-journalists sat the NCE on May 16 and six gained the certificate.

The successful candidates were:

Press Photographers:
Robert Browne, Essex Chronicle
Jeremy Durkin, Solent News & Photo Agency
Peter Flemmich, Shrewsbury Chronicle
Maria Marshall, Derby Evening Telegraph
Gareth Williams, Express & Echo, Exeter

Photo-journalist:
Matthew Swingler, Swindon Evening Advertiser.
