Bristol based Western Media Publishing Limited scooped two of the three prizes in a new category introduced this year - the 1999 BT West of England Website Publication of the Year. Its www.thisisbath.com took top prize and www.epost.co.uk was a runner up along with the North Devon Journal's www.thisisnorthdevon.co.uk website.

Judges said the winning Bath site was "very easy to use, with navigation that leads visitors through in a series of logical steps. It looks stylish and has a well thought out structure to its information. "It performed well on every visit and delivered results in any subject area quickly. But its special appeal was the fact that it seemed to love the city it was talking about - a great plus for any community based site - and in a lot of its writing it reflected the attitude and lifestyle of the city."
