Radio News Broadcaster of the Year:
Winner: Tim Hubbard, BBC Radio Cornwall
Highly Commended: Chris Blount, BBC Radio Cornwall and Mark Cummings, BBC Radio Gloucestershire

Tim Hubbard, a presenter and journalist for BBC Radio Cornwall, won this category. Judges praised Tim (pictured above) for "his skilfully placed and paced questions which bring out the best in his interviewees, while his knowledge and ability to think clearly and calmly under pressure of a live transmission enable him to handle outside broadcasts, such as a four-hour eclipse special, with apparent ease."
Runners-up were his Radio Cornwall colleague Chris Blount and BBC Radio Gloucestershire's mid-morning show presenter Mark Cummings. Nine entries were received in this category, but BT commented that none were from commercial stations which left the field wide open for the BBC.
