Business Journalist of the Year:
Winner: Chris Starkie, Evening Post, Bristol
Highly Commended: Carys Edwards & Neil Gallacher, BBC South West and Rob Sims, Express & Echo, Exeter

The 1999 BT West of England Business Journalist of the Year title went to Chris Starkie, pictured above, formerly business editor of the Evening Post, Bristol, and now working as news editor for the city's newest local commercial radio station 107.3 The Eagle FM.
Judges praised Chris as someone whose nose for a scoop and established network of contacts manage to keep him in front of the news.
"Several times during the year he broke stories that had companies rushing to deny their authenticity before reluctantly having to admit that he'd got everything just about right," they added.
Chris, who became a father for the first time earlier this year, was a runner-up in the BT awards two years ago.
Runners-up were Rob Sims of the Express & Echo, Exeter, and a joint entry from the BBC South West's job-sharing business and industry correspondents Carys Edwards and Neil Gallacher.
