The Daily Record emerged as the big winner at last night’s 38th Scottish Press Awards with seven top prizes.
The Glasgow-based title swept the board in the ceremony at the city’s Radisson Blue Hotel winning the Newspaper of the Year title along with Front Page of the Year and Digital Team of the year.
Daily Record journalists also took home four individual awards including Journalist of the Year for sports writer Keith Jackson and Reporter of the Year for Vivienne Aitken.
The Edinburgh Evening News picked up the Campaign of the Year prize for its Bin Watch initiative while News reporter Courtney Cameron was named Young Journalist of the Year.
There was a posthumous award for Gordon Aikman of the Sunday Times Scotland, who was awarded Columnist of the Year.
Gordon, who died in February, used his column to document his battle against motor neurone disease and campaign for more funding to find a cure for the degenerative condition.
The Weekly Newspaper of the Year title went to the Ayrshire Post wheile The Herald’s Susan Swarbrick was named Interviewer of the Year.
