A major gathering of regional editors due to take place next month has been postponed owing to illness.

The Society of Editors regional seminar, who is sponsored by HoldtheFrontPage, had been due to take place in Bristol on 6 February.

However the event has now been postponed until later in the year after the SoE executive director Bob Satchwell was taken ill.

“Delaying the seminar is the pragmatic decision considering Bob’s current ill-health and we plan to reschedule asap,” said a source.

The seminar was to have featured sessions on how to maximise video, the threat of fake news, police and media co-operation and the future of print.

It is now expected to take place later in the year.
