If you need a unit of comparison to call upon for a story about road resurfacing, the weight of an adult kangaroo might not be the first thing that jumps to mind.

However, the above shows this appears to have been deemed entirely appropriate at the Gloucestershire Echo – perhaps because the article in question was about a road called Bouncer’s Lane.

The marsupial measurement was spotted by Echo reader Lance Bradley, who told the Echo on Twitter it had “brightened his day.”

Given that an adult kangaroo can weigh anywhere between 18 and 100 kilograms, however, we’re not entirely convinced the maths behind this comparison stands up –  and a Gloucestershire County Council press release confirms the Echo accidentally missed a digit off the end.
