Ex-daily journalist runs for charity in memory of friend’s son

Lisa ClarkA former regional daily journalist is to run a half-marathon in memory of a three-year-old boy killed after being hit by a van.

Lisa Clark, left, will compete in the race in Plymouth in aid of a foundation named in honour of tragic Clinton Pringle, whose journalist dad Michael is a friend of hers.

The foundation aims to raise funds to help families who have lost children fund memorials.

Lisa, 30, who left journalism to start her own business as a children’s entertainer, will run the race on 23 April and hopes to raise £200.

She said: “The purpose of the charity will be to fund a tangible memorial for the loved ones of those suddenly bereaved of a child.

“These memorials will be useful assets to local communities, such as playgrounds.”

Clinton was on Jersey with mum Stacey and her sister Melissa at the time of the incident last summer.

Lisa, who has also worked for the Ayrshire Post and The Sun, added: “I can’t imagine going through the pain Stacey and Michael endure each day.”
