A regional daily editor is set to take part in a cooking challenge as part of a food festival on his newspaper’s patch.
Andy Martin, left, who edits the Bournemouth Echo, will be involved in the ‘People’s Kitchen’ event at the Bournemouth Food & Drink Festival.
Andy will go head to head with BBC Radio Solent presenter Steve Harris as part of the challenge.
The pair will attempt to recreate a dish which has been prepared by professional chefs Des Burke and Andy Chu.
Andy Martin said: “As a journalist I deplore the use the puns, but I think it’s safe to say I’m going to light a fire under Steve and give him a complete battering.”
The ‘People’s Kitchen’ event will be held in Bournemouth on Saturday 17 June from 12.30pm to 4.30pm as part of the 10-day festival.
Said Des: “The name of the game in the People’s Kitchen is for our special guests to try and recreate a dish which we prepare, and let’s just say it doesn’t always go to plan.”
