City weekly relaunches with expanded business section

A city weekly has relaunched with an expanded business section and a greater emphasis on comment.

The new look Sheffield Telegraph came out yesterday, with copies being handed out for free at the city’s universities and theatres to celebrate.

The revamped Telegraph features a 24 page lifestyle supplement, a new look property guide, an enhanced food section featuring a ‘Sheffield Cookbook’ recipe page and an extended business section.

It also promises more “comment and opinion from the city’s movers, shakers and experts”, including political analysis from former Home secretary David Blunkett.

Darren Burke, digital journalist at the Telegraph’s sister daily The Star and the Doncaster Free Press, also contributes as an “out of town columnist” with his ‘Steel City Portrait, described as a “comic and sideways at Sheffield life”.

The Telegraph’s masthead has been slightly amended, with black lines being removed from either side of the word ‘Sheffield’, while its cover price remains at £1.30.

A piece announcing the revamp reads: “We’ve given the Telegraph a huge makeover – and we’re sure you’ll be delighted with the changes.

“So don’t miss out and join us on an incredible new journey for the Telegraph. Don’t miss it.”
