ABCs: Sister weeklies top web growth charts

Two sister weeklies have topped the latest web growth charts produced by ABC.

The Whitehaven News and Workington Times & Star, which are both owned by the CN Group, had the highest number of daily average unique browsers in the first six months of 2017, compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.

The News recorded a 162.7pc year-on-year rise in the metric, while the Times & Star scored a 143.1pc increase.

The Cambridge News had the biggest increase in readership of any regional daily newspaper’s website, and was followed in positions four and five in the table by Trinity Mirror sister titles Get Surrey and the Birmingham Mail.
