Regional publisher announces new charitable jobs partnership

dawn-sweeney-300A regional publisher has announced a new jobs partnership with an organisation which represents 51,000 charities across the UK.

Newsquest has announced the link-up with Do-it.org, which will see volunteering job roles posted on the company’s new online jobs platform x1.

The deal will also also include the publication of local volunteering editorial features across Newsquest’s newspapers.

The launch of the x1 sites were announced earlier this month, and have been integrated with the company’s regional titles to allow recruiters to see their advertisements online on newspaper websites.

Dawn Sweeney, pictured above left, managing director of Newsquest Recruitment Solutions, said: “We are delighted to be working with Do-it.org.

“The Newsquest network of over 300 local newspapers and websites, and our audience of 28 million digital users and 6 million weekly print readers across England and Wales, provides Do-it with a terrific opportunity to increase the reach of their vacancies and to get more people into volunteering.”

Jamie Ward-Smith, CEO of Do-it.org said, “We are really excited to be working with Newsquest. The opportunity to promote volunteering to over 28 million digital users through their digital channels is huge, potentially enabling thousands of charities and community groups across the UK to gain access to skills and talent that they need to support their work.

“What’s especially attractive about this partnership is the local focus that Newsquest offers through their local and regional print and digital platforms. Volunteering is all about local people supporting local causes and issues and this provides a unique way for the 51,000 charities and volunteer centres who use Do-it.org to promote their work in a whole new way.”
