A regional daily marked a sporting triumph on its patch with front page wraparounds on consecutive days.
The Hull Daily Mail celebrated rugby league side Hull FC’s victory in the Challenge Cup with the wraps on both Monday and Tuesday.
The club won its fourth Challenge Cup, the sport’s premier knockout competition in the Northern Hemisphere, on Saturday after beating Warrington.
They had come behind from 10-0 down to win 12-10, and Monday’s Mail, below, featured a photo of the victorious dressing room.
It was the first time Hull had won the Cup at Wembley Stadium, where the final is usually held.
Tuesday’s wrap, pictured below, focused on a homecoming parade held in the city the previous day.
Hull FC are one of two professional rugby league clubs in the city, with the other being Hull Kingston Rovers.
