Steven Fletcher, left, joined the Nottingham Post as a reporter in 2002 was deputy editor when he left to edit the Lincolnshire Echo in 2011.

After overseeing the Echo’s move from daily to weekly publication, he became managing director of the Lincolnshire business in 2014.

One of the good guys – always a pleasure to be in his company. I am sure Fletch will do well in whatever he wants to. Good luck, mate.

It’s incredible the number of people who really “enjoy” working for their company suddenly “decide” in middle age to leave. It’s a brave “decision” too, as you never know what’s in store. Good luck, sir.

Another one choosing to ” persue a career outside the business”
I wonder why so many choose this route??

Is it another sign that there’s no future in the regional press for good people? a natural step away with a better job to go to or a sign that it’s time to abandon ship before it hits the iceberg I wonder?
Good luck to him in his career outside the regionals

Another one of the ‘transformation’ zealots from the early days of the Local World takeover. How bright they shone; how giddy it all felt; how mad it all really was.

    Dick Minim,
I have read many of your comments and dismissed them with a shrug.

But to call me middle aged at 38…… Scandalous! I just had a tough paper round…
In olden days I would have challenged you to a duel!

Shrugging is by far the best method of dismissiveness, Steve. And in my world it’s always 1749 or thereabouts so duelling is acceptable, if frowned upon by some. I suggest you read Dickens’s The Great Winglebury Duel (Penguin Little Black Classics – a hoot) for a steer on how to best resolve this situation. Good luck for the future.

Perhaps HTFP could run a daily ‘Where Are They Now?’ feature on the Loco World Transformation Team?

One of the best! One of the greatest headlines he ever delivered ‘Errorwash’..despite the fact I was the Comms Officer for Erewash BC at the time and it was a nightmare to handle internally, I couldn’t help but love him for it!

Luck isn’t needed for the future, you’ll make your own and do it incredibly well I’m sure.
