The description of something as being ‘of Biblical proportions’ is somewhat overused these days, but probably rightly applied in the case of the above correction by the Caerphilly Observer.

The clarification was shared on Twitter by Cerith Griffiths, secretary of the Fire Brigades Union in Wales, with several respondents commenting that staff at the newspaper should have checked their copy more Caerphilly.
