TM extends annual schools guide to former Local World titles

A group of 14 former Local World newspapers are to carry Trinity Mirror’s schools guide for the first time this year.

The company has announced it is to publish its biggest ever Real Schools Guide series, with regionalised supplements now set to run across 25 titles in the newly-enlarged group.

The guide, which will be published as a print product with a full breakdown of results per region, includes not just GCSE results but factors like value-added scores, pupil-teacher ratios and absence rates.

Parents can also go online to browse the full data, compare different schools, and find links to contact details and recent Ofsted reports.

Compiled by Trinity Mirror’s central data unit, The Guide is overseen by Claire Miller, senior data journalist in the Trinity Mirror data unit.

Neil Benson, editorial director for Trinity Mirror Regionals, said: “The Real Schools Guide is now well-established as a vital resource for parents across England and Wales.

“It’s a huge piece of collaborative and original work which makes the most of Trinity Mirror’s wide-reaching portfolio.

“This year in particular, as we expanded the series across 24 titles, it’s brought the best out of our talented data unit and newsrooms.”

Supplements range in pagination from eight to 16 pages and will be published between now and 12 August. They will run in the following newspapers:
