Calls for entries to farming journalism award

An award celebrating the best in farming journalism is calling for entries to its 2016 incarnation.

The British Guild of Agricultural Journalists has launched its search to find the winner of the Stuart Seaton Award, which celebrates high quality coverage of farming and rural affairs by regional newspapers.

The award is open to all such publications, editors and correspondents, not just members of the Guild.

Last year, it was won by The Courier, Dundee, and its farming editor, Ewan Pate. As a result, The Courier was awarded the right to publish the ‘regional newspaper award winner’ citation on its monthly farming supplement.

The award was established in memory of Stuart Seaton, the founding editor of Farmers Guardian.

His daughter Val Chapman serves as a judge on the award’s panel.

Entrants should submit PDFs of published pages from four consecutive editions, together with the entry form which also gives details of entry requirements

The completed form should be saved as a PDF and sent with the pages by the closing deadline of Monday 29 February. The form can be downloaded here.
