Welsh Assembly goes on tour in partnership with regional daily

Meetings of the Welsh Assembly are being held on a regional daily’s patch this week in partnership with the newspaper.

The Assembly – also known as the Senedd – is being hosted in Swansea until Friday, away from its usual Cardiff base, pictured below.

The project is being run in association with the Swansea-based South Wales Evening Post, and will see some of the Assembly’s committees sit in the city.

Outreach sessions with schools and community groups are also being held, and the Assembly bus will park up at various sites across the Swansea area.

Senedd

Evening Post editor Jonathan Roberts said: “Swansea is delighted that the National Assembly is coming to the city

“This event will provide an opportunity for real engagement between politicians and public on a range of issues affecting us in South West Wales.

“While our local AMs (Assembly Members) enjoy a considerable public profile through the local media, supporting their work in the community, the wider role of the Assembly is perhaps less well reported at a local level.

“We look forward to using this week as a platform to highlight just how the Assembly is working for Swansea.

“With a number of exciting developments on the horizon, not only in the city but right across the Swansea Bay region, there could be no better time to ask the important questions to the people that matter.

“As an official partner, the Evening Post is proud to be taking a central role in that process.”

What does being an ‘official’ partner mean/entail?
Is it being given money to cover the Senedd’s visit via some yawn-inducing supplement?
Sounds like meaningless drivel to me.
