Regional publisher appoints first chief commercial officer

Craig NAymanA former director of sales for ITV Channels has been appointed as a regional publisher’s first-ever chief commercial officer.

Craig Nayman will take up the role with Archant from interim chief commercial officer Johnny Hustler, who will retire after a long career with the company at the end of March.

Craig has more than 35 years of sales and management experience in media.

As well as working for ITV, he has also owned commercial and sales consultancy Red Cannon since 2006 – with clients including Wimbledon tennis hosts the All England Club, ITV and Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.

He said: “I’m delighted to be joining Archant at such an exciting stage of the company’s development.

“The opportunity to be part of the One Archant team and help drive the next phase of its transformation is a really compelling one. Archant has a strong portfolio of brands, and I’m really looking forward to working with the commercial teams, its customers and building on the current commercial performance across the multiple platforms the business has to offer.”

Jeff Henry, Archant chief executive, added: “I am very excited about Craig joining the Archant team and I am sure his experience and insight will contribute hugely to ensure our continued success in inspiring communities.

“His drive, enthusiasm and talent will be an invaluable asset to us.”

Another vital part of the newspaper production process is installed at another company. I don’t know much about Archant but it’s reassuring it can afford to employ bods like this as – obviously – its complement of reporters, subs, editors and photographers is enough to do a good job without any undue pressure.

Appointments don’t come more ‘exciting’ than this.

Inspiring communities? Please Mr Henry, have you actually spoken to individuals and business’s within the communities you purport to represent?
Or is that what you have been told by the nodding donkies who are merely intersted in covering their own backs?
Try speaking to us commercial staff or the thousands of ex advertisers who have walked away In Droves and then you’ll get the real picture and ‘inspiring’ isn’t a word you’re likely to hear from them.
Out of touch and living on cloud cuckoo land or just wishful thinking ?probably both
