A second senior executive of the Scottish-based Romanes Media Group has decided to leave the company following its recent purchase by regional publishing giant Newsquest.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Graham Faulds, finance director of the group, was leaving after 17 years with the company.
Now it has emerged that group publishing director Keith McIntyre, left, is also leaving “to pursue other business interests.”
The editors of the group’s Scottish titles who previously reported to Keith will now report directly to Graham Morrison, managing director of Newsquest’s newly-created Clyde and Forth division.
Keith also had editorial oversight of RMG’s Berkshire Media Group titles, which include the Reading Chronicle and Bracknell
However these are now part of an enlarged Newsquest Hampshire & Berkshire division headed by Amanda Davison Young.
Keith’s departure was announced in an internal memo sent by Graham which has been seen by HTFP.
Said Graham: “I’d like to thank Keith for the substantial contribution he has made to the business since his appointment, driving newspaper sales revenue in challenging trading conditions, overseeing the development of our editorial content strategy and as Acting MD of Berkshire Media Group. I wish him well for the future.”
Until last year, Keith was managing and marketing director of the Berkshire Media Group titles.
He then switched to an all-encompassing new role as group publishing director in a previous management shake-up.
So Graham “has decided to leave the company” – as you do I guess after 17 years. I’m sure this carefully weighed and long pre-planned “decision” has included a new job. A brave move, sir, and I wish you well.

Fairly obvious, cost cutting exercise I would expect to see more in the future
