One certainly couldn’t accuse the North Devon Journal of publishing an inaccurate headline when it revealed pictures of an “unusually high tide”, which appeared to show the River Taw in Barnstaple swapping places with the sky.

Thankfully the laws of gravity prevailed and the picture, as viewed above on the mobile version of the Journal’s site, was later amended to show sky and water the correct way round.
