Entries are open for the 20th edition of a newspaper industry awards franchise which celebrates excellence in both print production and digital innovation.

The newsawards, formerly known as The Newspaper Awards, is welcoming submissions ahead of its 2016 ceremony.

Categories on offer include Regional Newspaper of the Year, Regional Newspaper Printer of the Year and Regional Supplement/Magazine of the Year.

Awards will also be presented for digital work including News Website of the Year, Digital Innovation of the Year and Best Use of User Generated Content.

Gary Cullum, director of the awards, said: “The last 20 years has seen tremendous change for our industry and we are now facing one of our most challenging periods.

“The new format of newsawards, introduced last year, allows newspaper publishers to showcase not only the quality of their printed newspapers and supplements but also how they are developing exciting digital and business solutions.”

The winners of newsawards 2016 will be announced at a gala dinner on 27 April 2016 at the Lancaster London.
