Dailies produce ‘biggest ever poster’ to mark football final

Giant souvenir posters celebrating a local football club’s Wembley appearance have appeared in two sister dailies.

The Eastern Daily Press and Norwich Evening News carried the Norwich City posters, which measure 4.5ft by 2ft, in yesterday’s editions.

It follows on from the two papers printing celebratory wraparounds on Monday after City beat East Anglian rivals Ipswich Town in the Championship play-off semi final.

Readers are being urged to display the posters as a sign of support ahead of Monday’s play-off final against Middlesbrough.

The final will be held at London’s Wembley Stadium – the first time City have appeared there in 30 years.

The victorious side will compete in next season’s Premier League, the highest level of English football.

Nigel Pickover, who edits the two titles, took to Twitter yesterday and described the souvenir as the “biggest ever poster we’ve produced”.
